Why Give Through a Community Foundation?
- Mission Focused:Allows donors to ensure that funds are used for the designated purpose they choose. The Foundation can also help donors who do not have a charity of choice identify a nonprofit to benefit from their generosity.
- Anonymity:Some donors wish to remain anonymous or may want to give a larger gift to one of their established charities without the individual charity knowing that they have the capacity to do so. Giving through the Foundation can protect the confidentiality of the donor.
- Tax Advantages:For some donors, giving appreciated assets rather than direct cash contributions can reduce their tax liability.
- Income for Donor:In some instances, donors can give appreciated assets and generate immediate or deferred income, as well as receive possible tax advantages.
It is always recommended that you check with your accountant and financial advisor to determine how philanthropy can best be utilized in your individual circumstances.
Donor Advised Funds
We work with donors to set up various types of funds based on the objectives of their philanthropy. Funds may be active during the donors lifetime or upon their passing.
